Which is great. Awesome. I really enjoyed myself last year, and met some terrific people. All the other painters, show organizers, collectors, and my my host family were fun to be around. So I am looking forward to heading back down to SoCal again.
Laguna offers much to paint once you get away from the main drag, and the subjects can vary dramatically. Plus, the gala soirée and public sale in the Laguna Art Museum itself makes the whole thing an upscale experience.
What's even better about this invite is that since I have done this event once, I am better prepared. I have a better idea of what to do and where to go. So again, I'm really looking forward to going back in the Fall and pushing the paint around. A fine way to end the season.
And hey, maybe we won't lose any painting days to grey cloudy weather this year. (Ha!)
The Quickdraw Auction: Showing just one corner of the room. It was a scene. Mobbed shoulder to shoulder. Don't even know how anyone could see the work they wanted to buy...
My Quickdraw painting quickly bid up at the auction. The yellow sheet and big "X" meant it sold. And me, a dark horse at the event...

Some fine painters in this photograph. The thing about the plein air world is that everybody who participates is nice. Not a crank to be seen. Must be all the sun, eh?

Let me be the first to congratulate you! You are making your mark on the world, Thomas, now go and have a blast, for me, woudja? Oh, and Sonoma is missin' out on some good art, eh?
Thanks Brenda. I'm glad to go back to La-La Land anytime.
And Sonoma ain't missing out on good art.
Just missing out on mine! (grin)

Hey, Congratulations, Thomas--you deserve the recognition. (That's a great photo of the art enthusiasts). You'll hit it out of the park this year, do doubt!
Not surprising that they want you back! Congrats seem limp when compared to all of your good work and preparation and dedication. It's not luck, but determination that puts you at the top. Well done! Bravo!
Sounds like fun. I checked out your website...lovely paintings! Have fun in Laguna.
