The 2011 Season Begins...

I'm heading out next week for the first of many plein air paint-outs, invitationals, and competitions...

In order, from May through October, they will be the "Carmel Arts Festival, Los Gatos Plein Air, Telluride Plein Air, Plein Air Easton (then a short break to reaquaint myself with my wife and family*) then back to Pacific Northwest Plein Air (Whoops, I need to submit to that one first!) , and finally, the "13th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational".

Plus leading a few workshops in Oregon and Canada in there somewhere.

I'll to try to do what I did last year, which was upload one or two images at the end of each day I'm at an event. Assuming I've got wireless or phone service available. At the minimum, a couple of pictures with little blurbs of text. But hey, that's good, right? Means I'm painting more, and pontificating less. (Ha!)

So use the field above to subscribe to this blog. That way you'll be the first to see any successes or train wrecks that result. Painting at these events can be like walking a tightrope without a net. Or a balancing pole. They make even an experienced outdoor painter nervous. But then, thrills and chills are never very far away from the rewards of painting outside . . .
